‘Ye unveiled his Dw by Kanye West line on Saturday with nods to his hip-hop background (nameplate necklaces, backpacks, shiny tracksuits) and the sleek lines and neutrals of Celine, Calvin Klein and the like. Some reviews noted fit problems. All in all, I didn’t think it was all that bad. My mind isn’t blown, but I like the beading and leather.
To hear Amber Rose tell it, there may be another hip-hop union coming down the pike … eventually. She told MTV News:
“We discuss it all the time; like he said, we’re very much in love,” Rose told MTV News while standing next to her “Black and Yellow” rapper beau on the VMA Pre-Show black carpet. “But, ya know, we’re just going to take our time and just enjoy each other right now. We’re both really busy and we work really hard and when the time comes, it’s gonna come.”

While you were geeked out over that other VMA news, half-Nigerian Odd Future leader Tyler, the Creator nabbed a Moonman for Best New Artist. The MC dropped a fittingly less-than-coherent, F-bomb-laced acceptance speech, and followed up with a Prince-level weird backstage interview. He’s probably the first of the diaspora to score the win.
We walk into the Embassy and across this palatial room there was Toni Morrison sitting alone. When she saw these sisters dressed to the nines, she waved us over. I couldn’t believe the esteemed Toni Morrison was sitting alone at a gathering meant to honor her! I grabbed a waiter and ordered a bottle of champagne and within three minutes Mary Lovelace is in her lap.
